Last week I travelled down to Melbourne for my cousin’s wedding. We were only going to be gone for a few days, but that still meant that skincare needed to be packed.
For me, when I go on holidays I always pack quite lightly in regards to both skincare and beauty products. I just don’t see a reason in taking 50 products, when I really only use a small amount at home. Instead, I just take travel size versions of my favourites where I can. This not only saves on suitcase space, but also means I don’t have too many large products laying around the hotel bathroom.
Tribe Skincare Clean Me! Balm Cleanser
This is my all time holy grail skincare product, so there’s no way this wouldn’t be included in my travel bag. I’d actually just run out of my old bottle, so I had to pack this new bottle to go away with.
I’ve tried quite a few cleansers and honestly none of them compare to this one. I just love it and my skin does to. My skin has quite often been prone to breaking out when I try different skincare products, but this one has been a game changer for my skin. It’s gentle, effective at cleansing off any dirt and makeup, and doesn’t strip my skin dry of any natural oils. Not to mention that it smells like fruit tingles, which is an added bonus.
Sand & Sky Flash Perfection Exfoliating Treatment
I’ve been using this Sand & Sky exfoliator for the past few months and loving it. It’s actually a 2-in-1 product and acts as both an exfoliator and a mask in one, which makes it perfect for travelling with. I knew that I wanted to do a mask the day before the wedding, but didn’t want to pack one, so this exfoliator was the perfect choice. It meant not only would my skin be looking cleansed and have smaller pores, but would also make for an easier makeup application with smooth skin.
Origins Ginzing Eye Cream
For reducing dark circles and under eye bags, while adding hydration to the eye area, this eye cream wins. It’s also in a travel friendly sized container, which made it an easy decision to pack.
The only thing I don’t like about this product is that it has a fragrance similar to paint. Which if I’m honest, makes me a little scared to use on my face. But because I do like how it leaves my eye area looking, I continue to use it.
Clinique Moisture Surge
I’ve never actually used the Clinique Moisture Surge before, but as this product was travel size I decided to take it along with me. I used to use the Clinique iD – which I loved – and hoped that this would deliver similar results to my skin. After the first few uses I’m happy to report that so far I’m enjoying it. It definitely added a lot of extra hydration to my skin, which made makeup application on wedding day a breeze. I definitely think that I would include this in my travel bag again.
The Body Shop Body Butter
I’ve been using this product for years and it’s safe to say that I love it. I was going to take my full-size tub, but when I was going through my vanity I found this travel size of the peppermint candy cane scent.
This body butter is great for adding a lot of moisture and hydration to your legs. It’s my go-to all year round, but especially in winter or colder weather when my skin tends to dry out. It actually adds 48 hours of hydration, which I definitely can confirm happens. Because my legs always seem to stay quite moisturised for 2 days when I use this one. I also love the scents that these products come in. My particular favourite is the coconut, but I do also love the seasonal ones they release at Christmas time.
That’s all of the skincare that I packed with me for my Melbourne trip. However, I will be honest and let you know that my travel bag does change for different trips and destinations. So I might do a different skincare travel bag post for any future holidays I go on. If that’s something you might be interested in seeing?
What’s in your skincare travel bag? I’m always interested to hear about what everyone takes with them when they go on holidays.
